Rabbits - January 13th

The bluff was icy as the snow melts so our class decided to go adventuring to Princes Island Park. This warm weather has allowed us to do some mitten off activities that we don't normally get to do in January! We worked on some mapping skills; identifying landmarks, symbols, scale and cardinal directions. The kids created their own maps then hid an item in a set area, using a bead on their map to indicate the objects placement, thus directing their partner to the hidden object. This activity was a hit and we will continue working on these skills next week. I told the kids they could practice making a map of their backyard, bedroom or an area in their house and try this activity again this week with their parent or sibling.

We also had lots of fun slipping and sliding and climbing snow piles!
