Coyotes, Jan 7

The Coyotes tried out the giant slingshot, playing with angles and the different weights of ammunition. What worked better, potato, ice or a plastic duck? There is a teepee shelter close by with a stop sign on top and this made for good target practice. The goal was if someone hit it using the slingshot we could go for lunch. Kaia surprised everyone and hit it after only a couple of tries so we had an early lunch.

During lunch we discussed mental health first aid scenarios. How would we help somebody who was anxious or dysregulated on a fieldtrip? The Coyotes knowledge is broad in this area and they would be able to support each other if the need arose.

Our afternoon of cooking with mystery ingredients turned into a sumptuous Thanksgiving dinner all cooked over the fire. We enjoyed oat/cracker bread, cranberry sauce, mash and fried potato, glazed carrots and chestnuts! Everyone took on a job and they all worked together through the whole process.
