Wednesday, June 3

Today was all about dandelions! Both classes enjoyed all things dandelion. The morning class, made a craft, colored and had dandelion tea. During free time some explored in the kitchen, continuing to use the parts of the dandelion to make stews and teas. While others went fishing or enjoyed the hammock. The afternoon class had three stations to explore and use dandelions, crown making, drawing and the edible play dough. Then they played a competitive game of Contraband, and pulled out all the sneaky moves. We have started to reflect back on the year and worked on our final sit spot project!

At home ideas:

Dandelion Tea

Trim off yellow petals, add to hot water and serve with honey or other fun things.

Dandelion dough

Mix together:

-1/2 cup Smooth Peanut Butter

-2 Tablespoons Honey

Add the flour as needed, and mix by hand as needed: -  1/4 cup to 1/2 cup Flour

Store in an air-tight container for up to a couple of days.

Dandelion chains/crowns, coloring, craft

We added other plants into the chains or made them into hanging decorations.

Use Dandelion flowers to color yellow

Draw a face on cardboard and hole bunch holes for the hairline then stick through dandelions for hair.
