We certainly had our map skills tested today! We learned how to find a bearing using a compass on the map (where the magnetic needle doesn't have to be in the shed) and then translate that into 'real life', where the magnetic needle matters! We noticed that some of us liked following the path in a winding way to our destination, and some like bushwhacking in a straight line!
At each stopping place, we played a minute to win-it game, which kept us motivated and in good spirits. We loved seeing the crocuses coming up, examining the rocks, and getting our feet wet in the water. I felt we upped our mapping game with this experience, and am proud of how we rose to the challenge!
