Squirrels, Jan 15th

upstreamforestschool

It was a cold morning for the Squirrels on Monday. We started the day with a fun game called Penguin Huddle that had us waddling around and staying warm as a Penguin waddle! On land a group of Penguins are called a waddle and in the water they are called a raft! After our game we made snow by throwing hot water into the air and watching the steam rise as the snow fell. We then headed to the cabin to make sure our toes and noses stayed warm. We took a path through the trees and talked about the steam rising above downtown. We even saw an ice dragon! Breanne can definitely speak more to what they are.

Once in the cabin we settled in to reading and snacks. We read a book called My Nest is Best and another book about a frog who preferred to spend his time inside and a crocodile who preferred being outside. Ask your Squirrel if they are a frog or crocodile or perhaps a little bit of both.

After snacks we made salt dough together and using inspiration from another classes track prints we made our own. We will have the squirrels dried creations for them on Monday.

We also started some embroidery projects that we will continue next week!
