The Owls hiked through snow and icy ground 2.l km to the cave and 2.1km back. Along the way they were tasked with identifying three types of deciduous trees; paper birch, trembling aspen and balsam poplar and tree conifers; spruce, pine and fir. Ask your Owl how they can tell the difference between spruce and fir needles?
At the cave the Owls spent time exploring it's depths with and without flashlights! We played some games in the cave. Ask your Owl who we saw in the cave and what their nest looked like.
After lunch the Owls spent more time exploring the cave and sliding in the snow alongside the cave. On the way back we made some stops to climb some boulders, play camouflage in a mossy wonderland and throw rocks into a valley.
Thank you for all the shared treats. Well done Owls and thank you Mrs. Lea and Rodney for joining us!
