With the wealth of dandelions and other flowers and plants thriving on the bluff the Rabbits have been focused on plants in their free time. Some of their creations over the past two weeks include sunscreen, perfume, edible snacks, a dandelion music shaker, and headache relieving golden water.
Some Rabbits are focused on trading, buying and selling, and the possible exchange rates for their goods. This week we set up a bank where goods could be stored and gain interest. Partnerships were built as children set up shops together or agreed to be competitors, and the desire to find new plants led to some fun exploration and brought us to a different part of the bluff, near the orchard and community garden.
At snack time we read a book that the Squirrels class of 2017-18 wrote and illustrated about the struggle between a Coyote and a group of mice. This was a big hit! Thank you Maisy for sharing this book with us :) The class continued to develop their beading skills with Dori's guidance and we ended the day by creating a timeline of all we'd done using meeple (little wooden figurines) to mark our high and low points in the day, as well as the moments we felt most connected with friends and with the land.
