The Rabbits have a new hang out on the bluff which is proving to be a lot of fun! The bike park allows us to do some sledding and play games among the hills and trees and brush, good for hiding and sliding. It was nice to be back together in the new year and we enjoyed playing games today. Thanks to Clay and Daniel for organizing a game of imposter. We also played a game of Where is My dinner and continued reading our chapter book A Wolf Called Wander.
We tried our hand at some soap carving today and the class enjoyed this challenge. Some of us had some lofty ideas about what we might create, such as a dolphin jumping out the water, but we found shapes that were a little more simple were more successful. The Rabbits were coming up with ideas about the technique of soap carving and naming the type of strokes they were using (such as the drag technique) to cut into the soap and we learned about using positive or negative space to create a shape. We will continue on this project next week.
