The Owls continue to build their confidence as the group works together. This week, the adventurous Owls were drawn back to the spine-tingling heights of the bluff: building upon their previous week’s assessment of the risks, the group encouraged and supported one another to the edge of comfort zones, and with a little exploration, some pioneers discovered a new pathway down which they could lead their flock.
An energetic play-filled journey to the boat launch culminated in some full-immersion with the river wildlife in the back eddie; a genuine Bow River Pirate raft encounter, and getting to watch the Fire and Rescue launch, all in the warm Calgary sunshine it was certainly a contrast to last week’s chill! Who needs water shoes and swimsuits anyway??
Our river adventure ended with a mindful sharing of the joys and challenges of the day, before the slightly squelchy group trooped back to the base. Arrrrr!
