Starting the day with a good round of Contraband, the Owls were warmed up and ready to go. We played a couple rounds and tried to figure out how to best dupe our opponents. This game is challenging in that it is competitive, but in order for the game to work everyone has to play fairly. Trickery can only go as far as the rules. We had some interesting team conversations about playing fairly.
Making a loom to weave a grass matt brought the class together to work as one group. Some of the Owls worked on constructing the loom, creating the pieces of the loom and mastering a technique in grass collection. The grass is endless! After creating a grass matt the Owls decided they would like to leave it on the loom and make a little house to see if it can survive the winter. We will have to move it, but are looking forward to its construction. Going into free time the Owls continued working on making more looms and collecting more grass to outfit their forts with beds. It's looking pretty cozy in Bean, Aniya, Gregory and Ari's fort.
The afternoon brought us more pulleys and a zipline. The zipline was used for zooming down as well as testing ones skills and strength in climbing up.
