What a beautiful day to spend outside with such creative people! We understand how active the Owls like to be, so Rikia introduced us to some wrestling games, where we are honing our skills in agility and balance. These were some of our favourites! Ask your Owl about Snake in the Grass!

With the warmer weather in the afternoon, we explored some hands-on activities. Some were using the tool circle to create a bow, a table, and a pumpkin pinata! Some were learning about Poi, a Maori tradition. Look up "Poi spinning' to get a sense of what we're up to, and what the cognitive benefits are!

We will be challenging them next week to stay with it; develop their mental toughness by staying with an activity longer than they think they are able!

Brie has chosen to pursue other employment, and we wish her the best! I (Lea) will be hanging out with the Owls for a while!
