Owls, March 15th

We couldn't have planned for a better day. The weather was perfect, the ice along the river was exceptional, the animal tracks were abundant and the chickadees were just cautious enough to make a visit from them all the more special.

The Owls have always been close, but after this trip it seems they have become unbreakable as a group. They were able to come together to check in on one another. They discussed what they wanted as a group and did their best to accomodate everyone. The Owls are also so great at including anyone who wants to join in on something and taking space when they want to have some contemplative or quieter time.

Ask your Owl what they learned about ice safety and how ice freezes. What happens when an ice shelf cracks from the shore? What was the highest number of rocks they were able to throw onto an iceberg? What was the bucket game all about? What animal tracks and scat did we see? Did they see the Eagle? Did a chickadee land on them? If so how many? Would they like to go back to Bowmont?

Also we hope you keep your snow shoes for every Hazel. They are a work of art!
