We prepared for our rafting trip next week by heading to the river this week! We took the time to learn about features of the river, and how to read them. We talked about the parts of the boat, and how to be in the boat Here are some important highlights:
-never tie yourself to the boat
-stay in the boat
-when the command goes out to paddle, paddle!
-complete obedience is required, without needing to know why!
-listening to others is important, and not talking over one another
We also got a chance to test out our clothing options. Most have an idea of what they would do differently next week! Ask them about their gear choices!
There is an email going out about what to bring, where to meet, and the snack potluck. We'd also like to carpool from Sunnyside, and have a parent drop us all off (including the teachers) so we don't have to go back at the end of the day and get a car.
