Owls, April 10th

Games, disc golf, compass literacy and new friends were some of the highlights of our day.

We love Mrs. Heidi's games and how they challenge the Owls as a team...it's not always the fastest who will win the race in her games. Ask your Owl what games they enjoyed from today....was it Rabbit in the Hole, Beats, Cone and Tail, or the game where the outsider has to figure out the order of the circle by tapping players hands and organizing an array of songs and sounds?

The Owls also created mini disc golf courses for each other using the degrees of a compass. These Owls are getting their directions!

Going into free time we started to see some new friendships being made. Aikam had his first class back, which changed the dynamics of the group. While some of the Owls fell into their imaginative game that has evolved over weeks other Owls worked in the tool circle and on re-familiarizing themselves with the bluff.

After lunch we planned to try out the potato cannon, but unfortunately some of the wiring broke. Without electrical tape we were unable to fix it on the bluff but hope to bring it back next week. Instead of firing Mrs. Rikia's old beats in the cannon each Owl was given one to carve in sit spot. The Owls are really embracing their sit spots lately. Perhaps the weather, perhaps their connection to the bluff, but it seems like they all appreciate the quiet moments they have to themselves on the bluff.
