Owls 9th October

Welcoming some honorary Owls today, courtesy of the Teacher's Strike, we warmed our cockles and challenged our senses with a game of Bat and Moths, followed by a blood pumping game of Coyote and the Whale. Who would have thought that a whale could fly so subtly, and leap from player to player in such an agile manner?

Thank you Griffin for kicking off our 'expert's corner during free-time' series: everyone eventually mastered the basics of crochet (and young Barney is still proudly wrapping his colourful strip around his neck a week later!). We look forward to Piper's completed pickle, and maybe a future production line of crochet owls? Potato sculptures were impressive as well as slightly terrifying - a foreshadowing of the coming halloween season...

The owls' competitive spirit was roused by the mystery item auction, then creative juices flowed merrily through the ingenious and imaginative use of resources to construct challenging and energetic games. What fun we all had, and it was a joy to see both teams entering fully into the spirit of each others creative visions. A fun day of reciprocity and connections!
