This blog will serve as a snapshot of the last two weeks!
Last week, we enjoyed some new tug of war games, where we verses one another either one on one, or team against team. That transitioned into our Pirate game, where we created a blend of a few different peoples' ideas; Theo's Shark plan, and Joe's Forest version. We added a few more things to make it harder as we went (a smaller beach, zombies allowed on the beach) and there were some amazing moves to get around these tough situations!
The highlight last week was the making of the ballista, or a very large, movable crossbow. We gouged, we bent, we harvested, and we worked together to pool our knowledge and make it work - and it did! Now we have some smaller version being made.
This week we made sure everyone had some basic knots under their belt, so that they can better build, create and engineer! We also tried to teach them some 'sneaking' skills that will serve them in the Mantracker game. Knowing when to run, and when to wait, is a good life skill!
We enjoyed having 4 'strike camp' kids with us this week - the larger numbers made for an amazing Capture the Flag game, and we were pleased to see everyone in the Foxes class so welcoming. Thanks Foxes!
