Nuthatches, May 9

I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon with the Nuthatches! They are creative, excited about life, and look out for each other. What a pleasure!

We learned about flowers, and how they use their colours to talk to the natural world. With paint chips, we looked all over our forest for the colours of the rainbow - and found all of them! Even purple!

I hung back to watch the three of them explore some fantasy play, which they negotiated by adding their own insights and world experiences. They also used the wood pieces and small figure to create 'Bridgeville'!

Their Sit Spot involved creating a beaded wire, an activity which demanded concentration and quiet. After they settled in to the quiet space, they didn't want to leave it! When we are still, bird song seems to just appear!
