Foxes, November 5th

The Foxes visited the tear drop for the first time this year. It was a beautiful little hike up the rope climb and along the winding trail at the top. On the way some of the Foxes noticed how droplets of water had frozen on leaves and the delicate frost on the branches of the trees. The Foxes were the kings and queens of Calgary once we got to the top and could see the expanse of the city.

At the tear drop we played a game of mantracker. It was in unknown territory and so changed the dynamic a bit. Ask your Fox how many sightings they got.

Heading back to the cabin we followed Ted's enthusiasm to stray from the path and bushwack down the bluff. Along the way we found a milk crate filled with mail, documents, papers. There was a lot of discussion about how they got there. Was this someones camp or was this stuff tossed here. A few personal items were found and it was deemed that we should take them and either track the person down to return the documents or to shred them. The papers were all dated from before any of the Foxes were born and so it was decided to safely dispose of everything. You can ask your Fox what they learned about Rhonda and how they felt about the process.

Before we left the cabin the Foxes each made a little emergency first aid kit. This is in preparation of next week when we will have a special visitor who is coming to teach some basic first aid and what to do in an emergency. If you remember your Fox can bring some items that they think would make a good splint, like a spatula, wooden spoon etc.

Heading back outside the Foxes practiced their sit spot and observation skills with a leaf drawing/watercolour activity in their journals. This lead into free time where the Foxes painted wounds on themselves in a game of zombie invasion. There was also a peanut hunt that transformed the Foxes into squirrels and some fun with ropes and swings.
