The Foxes had a great field trip to Edworthy last week. It was cold, but stunning. Steam was rising from the river as we crossed the bridge and hoarfrost encased the trees in what we called the Christmas Tree field.

A few rounds of Animal Game were played amongst the Christmas trees. The Foxes took turns being top predators to being the foundations of life as grass and plants. The stakes were higher in the unfamiliar territory and the Foxes kept warm running and completing challenges.

After a game of camouflage we headed to a picnic area to make a fire and a spontaneous Quinzee. The class split into groups prepping for the fire, lighting & maintaining the fire, shovelling snow and hoping in between the groups. Ask your Fox if they liked or disliked the roasted chestnuts? They seem to be a love it or hate it kind of food.

After lunch we pushed the Foxes for a steep hike. We went around the north/west end of the park across a little stream and scaled up until we were at the dog park overlooking Edworthy. Good job Foxes! It was a quick and tiring ascent.

The reward was we got to spend the rest of the afternoon sledding. Although the hill wasn't quite as steep and fast as we expected it was long and made for a good long ride. We think that the Foxes doubled their milage sledding as they did on the hike.

We are very proud of the Foxes as they gain more and more experiences. They can come together to build a fire pretty seemlesssly. They move as a group when on hikes and they organize themselves efficiently to accomplish things as a group.
