Skating was a hit with the Foxes! The ice was beautiful and at the beginning of the day we had the whole rink to ourselves. Some of the Foxes are more comfortable on skates than others, but by the end of the morning everyone had skated and wanted to keep skating! The Foxes are really great at encouraging one another and helpful in offering tips and tricks for a better glide. Skating time was mostly free time, but we played zombie ant and pirates of the Caribbean as a class. We will be skating again next week so please bring skates!

After skating and lunch we stopped by the new bouldering park by the old YMCA in Eau Claire and then headed back to Prince's Island to learn how to scrum in Rugby. We deemed that it was too icy to play a game and continued on to the giant ice mound. The were some disappointments when we arrived. One of the shelters had collapsed and the mound was super icy making it hard to dig. However once the Foxes let go of their disappointment they were able to start working on something entirely new. Huxkley and Noah managed to carve out quite a bit and extended their hole, Maizey and Talia added a skylight to their penthouse and there were considerable efforts to Re-create Mt. Rushmore.

Continuing on from our snow school, we started to do some challenges around temperature. How warm did your Fox get their thermometer and how? How cold could they get it? What is colder, snow or ice water? We will be continuing with studies around temperature with some fun experiments next week!
