Coyotes, Nov 20

We began our day with a question: where od you want to go? After reminding ourselves of some styles of decision making (dictatorship, democracy, consensus), we asked the Coyotes to make a decision basedon consensus. There were three options; stay at the bluff, go to a new spot near Prince's Island, or walk to St. Patrick's Island and be outside all day. After some great discussion, it was decided that we would risk the cold weather, be outsdie all day, and walk to St. Patrick's. The plan was to play Mantracker, have a fire, then walk back to the bluff.

The Mantracker game was excellent; there were things they had to find on the island (info on signs, a number of pictures, natural items) without getting caught. The teachers were on foot, and while some of the Coyotes used he natural cover of the tress and bushes well, some preferred the main path, and got caught quite often! We would love to try this game where relying on maps is more important.

We made another group decision; there wasn't a lot of wood for us, and fire wasn't going to be very warm. So, we decided to walk back and have lunch at the Cabin. We were hungry, but determined! Then, we remember the library was quite close, so we headed there for a quicker lunch and exciting bathrooms (ask your Coyote!). Then, the walk back to discover that during our absence, work had begun on the bluff- yay!

We did a little Poi practice (maybe your Coyote can demonstrate?) and it was time to leave. Always an eventful day with the Coyotes!
