Coyotes March 6

Presenting our resident author...Vita Snyder

We started our day at the Franz Dopf Gallery in Kensington! And when we went inside, we were greeted by a certain Winston Pupperino. I was surprised by how small the gallery was. I kind of imagined the Sistine Chapel. I don’t know why. But the art there was beautiful, and it was quite inspiring to examine each one. My favorite was one called “Clarity” featuring a waterfall framed with trees and a cool misty lake in the background, with tall mountains even farther away. But there were so many other ones I really liked looking at, that obviously required a lot of work and skill.

We spent our time at the gallery finishing up our art project, like winging it with our trees, painting our coyotes with paint markers, felting the rest of our clouds and committing spontaneously to mushrooms. When we were done, I felt that our group had created a masterpiece that helped us come closer together as one.

After walking back from the art gallery, we stopped at the cabin to eat lunch and plan for Mini Forest School. And soon we were ready.

We walked up the bluff and prepared our stations and games. A pretty good class turned out, and the Coyotes found ways to distribute some of the guests a bit more, which led to an epic tarp-fort snowball fight! We then played a few rounds of our favorite parachute game shark-and-lifeguard and then shared our favorite parts of the day with the class.

When our Mini FS class had left, we revisited some Inuit games and exercises. I really enjoyed that, and I’d like to learn more.

Safiya! Your energy was missed this week, and we often said “Oh, Safiya would love this!” or “Safiya would—”. I can’t wait to see you next week! Tokyo Street Market 4 Eva!
