From Mika:

"The sky was blue, the sun sparkling off the snow and we all agreed it didn't feel too cold. It was a beautiful start to the day, which continued with a game of Eagle, Osprey or Where's my dinner? Bridgette was the eagle, and valently guarded her dinner- maybe a bit too well, the slightest movement was called out, even the slight shake of our shadows, or at least that's what it felt like to me! I was determined, and made it up the hill many times (we were playing long range), but never had enough teammates at the same time to steal it. Eventually we changed our eagle to Hiba, who gave us a bit more leeway, although had some tricky turnarounds, and although we stole the dinner this time, we couldn't get it to the endpoint.

For our next game, we had a wrestling game where everyone was assigned a number, and at least one other person had the same number as you. When your number was called, you had to run into the circle and wrestle your opponents for the ball, and get it out of the circle to win. The trick was, you didn't know which number was next, and they weren't called in order. I loved it, it was exhilarating, intense, sometimes painful, and competitive, but the glory is worth it all!

After a few rounds of Zombie Ant, we concluded our games and trooped back to the cabin, it was lunchtime, and our funny conversations, crocheting and leather projects started a few weeks prior carried us through and back outside.

Our friends the Cottontails told us about the ice-slide across the street, and it was sheets of ice, complete with obstacles like trees and bumps, and we had some epic slides, crashes (thankfully into Ms.Lea, guarding the tree- thank you!) and chain reactions!

Next was crokecurling, part two, this time we had cans with ice in them to slide, much better than beanbags. My team named all our cans (mostly keeper of the lost cities (books series), and we had a lot of fun hurling them at the other teams blocks of ice!

We moved on to sledding, the crack didn't have any snow, but the gentle slope across the path from it was great, faster than you might think, and it had a jump! I liked the skis, they worked well for standing, and were super fast.

Finally, next week is our Iron Chef Cooking Competition, February 26th! We can't wait, and spent our last few minutes finalizing details! "
