Coyotes, 16th October

Writer's picture: Dawn HardyDawn Hardy

The Coyotes began their day at the field to practice some rugby which they hadn't played in a long time. It took some practice and revision of the rules but finally the Coyotes were able to get a successful game going. They then headed up to their spot where they discussed the Yamnuska hike. After having their concerns and opinions addressed, they all agreed that Yamnuska would be a beautiful and exciting challenge to attempt. After making their decision, they all found sticks which they turned into hiking sticks, crutches, or stilts. Everybody was so creative! They all worked tirelessly to try to remove the bark and sand the wood until it was smooth. Some Coyotes were especially determined to get their stick as smooth as possible and were quite successful!

Lunch was followed by various activities such as painting pumpkins, sit spot, and also a new game. The Coyotes were tired of playing the same game of revenge tag every week, so they attempted a man hunt game which was quite fun. The Coyotes ended their day by heading back to the field to play both sitting and standing volleyball. They are all excited for the hike next week!
