The Cottontails climbed to new heights. We had the bluff to ourselves so as a class we decided to spend the afternoon in the Foxes spot. The Cottontails were excited to find the Foxes' forts and to explore them. Some of them ventured to the top of the tree fort while others decided that they felt safer perching on the branch below.
After lunch and reading 'A Wolf Called Wander' the Cottontails got down to business in the tool circle finishing off their weapons and spoons from last week. Some of them wandered down the bluff to harvest caragana to start a new weapon with Mrs. Rikia while others stayed in the spot to play cats cradle with Mrs. Anika. Ask your Cottontail if they harvested caragana and if they did why it is okay to cut it down green.
Moving down the the pathway the Cottontails played a game of Octopus tag before settling into a science/art craft. Using milk, food dye and dish soap the Cottontails experimented with how soap reacts to the fat in milk. From this experiment they made beautiful marbling art.
