The Cottontails had a great time on our field trip to the Bow Habitat Station. There is so much to see, learn and engage with.

We started with checking out the aquariums where we saw minnows to some pretty big fellows. We learned about what species of fish are in Alberta rivers and even got to see a model of the inside of a fish.

The interactive exhibits upstairs caught the interest of the Cottontails. Some were super interested in the water exhibit and how much water is consumed on average every day depending on where you live. Others became masters on the components of a healthy river and spotting human activities that could harm the river. The beaver dam and the movie theatre were also big hits.

We finished off feeding 10 month old rainbow trout in the hatchery. It was stinky, but cool to see the different tanks with different age fish. Ask your Cottontail what happened when they threw in a large amount of feed into an empty space.

To wrap up the day we went fishing in the kids pond. Thank you to Andrew's dad who helped us get the rods set up and taught us how to cast!
