Chickadees, May 11

Mika kindly offered to write the blog this week:

The chickadee’s started the class with a story and snack and then headed up the hill on an adventure searching for treasure. We stored our treasures (dandelions, little rocks, twigs, and berries) in little sections in egg carton containers . On the way down the hill everyone wanted to roll down, and everyone had fun trying this! We did some coloring and drawing objects we had found and collected on our walk . There was lots of interest in the tool circle and we took turns using the saws to cut into big logs, as well as practicing hammering nails into a fallen log and using a rasp. A mud kitchen was created and stews, soups and pies were popular creations. Lots of yummy things to eat were dreamed up by the Chickadees.
