During today’s class we continued with the exploration of our spot by finding different foliage to cut up into salads, burritos or simply to collect. Some of the squirrels found leaves bigger then our heads and grass taller than the teachers! The squirrels were enthusiastic to show each other their finds and build their creations. Ask your squirrel what they created!
Last class the squirrels enjoyed some imaginative play and so this class we decorated crowns as a loose part in their imaginative play. Everyone had their own spin on the crown using a variety of craft materials, some making a crown for their stuffie friend as well. Ask your squirrel what the hardest part of crown making was!
Then the kings and queens were called upon to test themselves in an obstacle course, there was lava, alligators and sticky spider webs. Each round we made the obstacles harder and everyone loved the challenge. The Squirrels were patience for their turn, cheered each other on and weren’t afraid to challenge themselves. We see many more obstacle courses in our future. Ask your squirrel which one was tricky or their favorite!
Lastly we had some free play which involved some more imaginative play, painting and hammering and well as a final game to end class.
See you next week!
