Red Squirrels, Nov 29

upstreamforestschool

We started our class with showing Lincoln our "regular" spot and some of our favorite areas and forts. This also allows us to do a safety check of our play space making sure there isn't any surprises or risks. Then we started to build catapults, Lincoln had an idea for a design and the other Red Squirrels followed along. We attached a bucket to a plank of wood before trying different ways to secure and launch our items. What items did your child catapult, did they add any special changes to their catapult? Lots of re working and testing to find a consistent method. Since it was such a nice day we continued exploring the tools, this time trying out the hand drill and continuing to practice our point carving skills. Did your child make a gnome or elf or did they practice drilling ?

Did they try the slack line? was it challenging ?
