Rabbits - Sept 24

It was a warm and beautiful fall day on the bluff!

We started the day with some games. We played tails and fire in the forest tag.

Then we moved on to our big project for the morning. Building off a game the students had invented last week where they ran a "minty tea shop," we decided to make some tea. We went on an expedition and found some wild mint and took it back to our base. We crushed it and mixed it with hot water (and some candy canes) and had some delicious tea to go with our snack.

We are continuing to read Greek myths during snack and today we read the story of Persephone and talked about the seasons. Many of the students said that their favourite season is winter!

We then had free play and the minty tea shop continued, this time all of the students eventually joined in to the play and it was decided that we should bring more tea supplies next week so that we can continue the tea shop.

We finished the day with an art project. Students made self portraits on pieces of cardboard and decorated them with colourful leaves, flowers, and grass.
