It was a bit of chilly start this morning, but warmed quite nicely. We explored a new part of the bluff today and really enjoyed this spot. We also welcomed Dayna, who is doing some practicum days with Upstream for her Forest School teacher training. It was great to have her!
To warm up our bodies, we started with some games. We played camouflage and had fun figuring out good spots to hide. We then played "zombie ants," which is a class favourite.
Following our games, we hiked up to a sunny spot a little higher on the bluff to have our snack and continue reading "A Wolf Called Wander."
Next we had a free time. It is always great to see the students pick what they want to do and to watch them engage with each other, but today was especially awesome! Some students engaged in wrestling, others played with the hammock, and others built a tree fort out of ropes, sticks, and a tarp.
We ended the class with some knot practice. We are planning to continue using ropes and knots to build things, so we are working on this skill.
