During our Forest School activities, we sneak in social learning wherever we can! In order to get to the stick pile, we discussed the pros and cons of the two different ways to get there, and voted on the route we wanted to take. Then, once there, the children were to come up with rules to a game we had started last week (King of the Castle, or stick pile!). I think giving the children decision making power and creating opportunities to collaborate are essential pieces of Forest School! Of course, the Capture the Flag game, the shelter building, the zipline process are all great too! During February we will explore our senses at Sit Spot!
