Games, games, games and more games. The Owls love playing games! We learned a new game today called Pirates and the Owls were up for the challenge. Ask your Owl if they were a pirate, an adventurer and if they met their doom on the black pearl and became a pirate ghost.

Pausing briefly after lots of running around, we gathered the Owls to make a talking stick together. Our aim for the Owls is to become a smoothly functioning parliament (name of a group of owls)....that way we can do all the fun and more adventurous things!

We got to the river a little earlier today and had free time before lunch. There were some brave Owls that went fully into the river as we practiced some river rescues, floated and threw rocks from the gravel bar.

After lunch, some of the Owls played Predator, Prey and Wolf Hunt while some of the Owls fished. Thank you Gregory and Avyn for bringing and sharing your rods!

With not quite enough time left to the day we challenged the Owls with making a raft. The class came together under the pressure of time, minimal supplies and the desire to succeed. It was truly beautiful to watch them work collaboratively. It ended as a great success and the Owls launched the raft into the current just in the nick of time. While we were walking back over the Peace Bridge we watched it turn the bend of the river and drift out of sight.
