To get our bodies moving and to prepare for our Double Ball game in a couple weeks we started the day with some drills. Mrs Lea became Drill Sergeant Lea and we all got to see another side of her. Most likely the Owls could see through her guise but played along. We did some fitness training and double ball drills ending with everyone having a turn as the drill sergeant.
With the fresh snow on the ground we headed off to find some good tobogganing. Bean showed us to her favourite hill right behind the Sunnyhill Coop. Huxley perfected riding on one ski while the rest of the Owls took runs with chicken feed bags and clear plastic. The class decided to work on an existing jump, which included a luge kind of lead up to make sure you hit the jump right. Unfortunately the snow just wasn't that fast and only Machen was able to actually get over the jump.
Back at the cabin, Huxley taught us how to make shooters out of popsicle sticks and mini dowels. He was a wonderful teacher that took as through the process step by step. There were also some boats made and tested at the same time.
We also worked on our double balls and are getting pretty excited to finishing them!
Heading out again we worked on some team double ball skills and mini games. Finishing up we ended the day with a sit spot that involved an egg, observation and 7 min of quiet. Ask your Owl what they thought!
