Foxes, October 8th

upstreamforestschool

Last week we saw some examples of weapons and this week we made crossbows! We think everyone is pretty impressed with the outcome of these. We're excited to make the remaining ones next week.

Before making crossbows, a sling shot and many arrows; the Foxes went through some first aid scenarios to see how they would fair in a real wilderness emergency. Thank you to all of the 'casualties' that played the parts in being wounded. The Foxes are quite capable in an emergency situation and figuring out what to do. Their biggest challenge might be making a chain of command. The stretcher scenario was definitley a highlight.

The Foxes are still very much into their forts and figuring out the engineering and social challenges that have arisen from having three seperate forts. There has been some big progress in treaty making and how to engage as respectful, even helpful neighbours. Perhaps the biggest force bringing them together was a unifying interest in squirrel hunting. We will see how they come together in the coming weeks as they try to outwitt the squirrels.
