The Foxes have gone from hunting squirrels to befriending squirrels! Ask your Fox what changed. Did they get a chance to get up close with a squirrel or perhaps a chickadee?
We played lots of new games on Prince's Island. Most of the games had something to do with animal relationships and the food chain. Did your Fox prefer to be a wolf or a deer? Does one of them have an easier existence?
The Foxes also had lots of fun sledding on the bluff and on the island. This lead to jump building and the beginnings of an igluit.
After eating lunch outside we headed to Sammy's park for an afternoon fire and skating. It was lovely to see how the more experienced skaters helped the less experienced skaters and encouraged them to keep trying. Everyone had a chance to skate and it seemed like everyone was proud of their accomplishments of the day.
We also built a communal fire to roast bannock on. The Foxes delegated tasks and most of the Foxes helped make the fire. Little fairy fires were also made and again the more experienced fire lighters helped those who were new at it. At the end of the day the Squirrels (the class) joined us to share our fire. Julien also taught Nikolai how to light a match!
