This was a Double Forest School week! Thanks for getting your Owl to the field for the game! Here are some pictures that show the energy and intensity that we saw!
Our class on Thursday involved practicing for our next adventure; melting (lead free) pewter on the fire. We want to immortalize our double ball sticks by adding a touch of metal to the handle, which we will prepare ourselves. Today we practiced with wax to get our systems down and safe. We're ready!
Of course, the main teacher at Forest School is the environment around us; when it became apparent there was water under the ice on the path, we spent the rest of the day hammering and creating a river for the water to follow. This made us wet, bruised (from all the falling!) and achy (we used a lot of arms!) but extremely happy - how satisfying is it to control the flow of water, and hammer with all your might ? Ask your Owl what their role was, and how it felt for them!
A good reminder for us all: bring extra mitts and socks to change into!
