From Mika!
We were challenged by the owls class, to beat their time in a challenge. The goal was, everyone had a number on a foam circle and you had to touch everyone else's number and then yours again. At first it seemed tricky, but we tried a few different ideas and perfected them, getting faster and faster. But then Minel had a groundbreaking idea that changed everything. I won't say what it was, in case any owls read the blog but we got a time of 0.57 seconds! I am confident that we beat the owls! Thanks Minel!
There was also a new game to try, which was really fun and similar to cops and robbers. After the first few rounds we had to add a boundary which made the game go quicker, and we enjoyed trying to outlast the other team. My team won thanks to some good strategy and speed! I liked the mix of strategy and athleticism that made the game fun.
After being inspired by some books we did some clay and planned for mini forest school and played some three way tug of war, before walking to the cabin for lunch. Without me knowing, the cabin had been decorated and everyone surprised me for my birthday with cards, gifts and baking! Thanks everybody! One balloon war later we were back at the bluff to set up for mini forest school.
Mini FS was a great success, we only had three kids, but we had plenty of fun and are getting better and better at it and enjoying it more. Camouflage, animal game, tool circle, obstacle course and tea and books- it was great!
We did a debrief about today's mini FS and Lucy shared with us some new poses to try, that I really liked. There was one called jenga that we pulled off and was really fun, but also tricky until we got good. Getting into the pose was a little difficult, but funny and then you have to use your core to stay up. Sadly, our day ended after that and we had to part until next week.
