Chickadees, Jan 15

upstreamforestschool

To keep warm the chickadees did lots of hill sliding and climbing at the beginning of class. They even explored this new area with a cool frozen waterfall. It was not easy to climb up but almost everyone got up there! When we were inside the cabin we read books about how different animals stay warm. Then they made their own bird nest which had a little vile of water. Their goal was to make the nest warm enough using a variety of materials so that when we put the nest outside the water vile wouldn't freeze. Ask your chickadee if their water froze or not! Next week we will keep exploring how animals stay warm in winter.
