Squirrels, Jan 7
Continuing with our mapping theme, we explored the compass and what it does. The needle inside turns, and will always point north! We are learning the four cardinal directions through games; next week, during some of our indoor time, we will make a compass and prove that the needle points north when magnetized! To keep our feet warm, we went for some sliding practice; taking turns and sharing our sleds has been a practice we are getting better at. At Upstream, a child can take a long turn if they like, while the child waiting can learn patience and using their words. At the bottom of the sliding hill, some children went exploring and found a Darker Forest; your child can bring a flashlight next week to explore this space with!
During our Sit Spots we are experimenting with sound; with knitting needles, we made a variety of sounds at our spot!
