Squirrels, 13 May

We had a very successful training hike to the top of the bluff scrambling the last bit up a steep grassy bank. We had snacks and read The Gruffalo. Some of the Squirrels said they were on top of a mountain.

During free-time there was food being made in the kitchen, especially using the alfalfa that is popping up everywhere and the Squirrels can identify it. The tools were popular and some wanted to be in their own spot away from where we normally play to invent games and search for creeping bellflower.

We all came together at the end to create dandelion pictures. At first we planned to draw out the pictures and find the dandelions to decorate them next week. And then Jono spotted a field of dandelions up the slope. Everyone clambered up there and Luca exclaimed it was a "Dandelion Wonderland!"

There were so many dandelions we could finish our drawings and they turned out great.

We don't have a class on Victoria Day this Monday but watch out for an email about our trip to Prince's Island Park aka The Royal Island on Monday May 28.

May 28, Coyotes

The Coyotes spent the day oscillating between extreme relaxing (see the pictures of them on the beach!) and full on sports participation....
