Owls, September 12

The rain is a great impetus to practice our knot and tarp skills! However, we were more concerned with speed today than design! Once we got our tarps up, we were able to play some games while keeping our gear dry. Ask your Owl to show you the slip knot, and what we did with it!

Our afternoon found us considering the rain, all the water, and what we could do with it...what we saw was mud! We voted to go to the rope climb and try some mud sliding, while Rikia, Julian and Bean made some applesauce from apples and pears we picked last week. Don't worry, Rikia and Bean also went mud sliding! Thank you for the all the laundry you did this week! It was a good time to cozy up with some cinnamon apple sauce. Our knife skills are being used as well as our outdoor cooking skills, and respect of the hot stove!

Everyone was very resilient when it came to wet socks, muddy faces and cold sleeves. They are a hardy bunch!
