Nuthatches, Dec 13

upstreamforestschool

It was a chilly start to the day so we stopped at one of our favorite sliding hills so we could keep moving. Some of the nuthatches climbed all the way up while others rolled all the way down. A few ice cream cakes were made at the bottom once someone needed a break. We came inside for a snack and to warm up the toes. Then we headed back up to smash apart ice with hammers, which freed up some hidden gems inside! Ask your nuthatch to show you what they collected! It was tricky to get the gems out so it required some teamwork and sharing of tools and eventually the gems. After that we all turned into Hawks and hunted for squirrels, chipmunks and mice!
