Snow day! It was a wet snow and didn't last the whole day, but it was our first snow day of the year!

Working on our hunting skills, the Foxes started the day with another game of Predator/Prey and added a game of Fire Keeper. To prepare for a tracking game we worked on our stalking and balancing skills and set out to track a deer!

The Foxes had to find clues left in the woods to track a deer. Some of the clues they found were deer tracks, tree rubbings, beds, and bent sticks, which lead them to the deer in the bike track. What they found was the deer skin that the Foxes cleaned last year. We have yet to decide what we will do with it this year.

This led to a large game of mantracker. We expanded the boundaries and made the tasks more difficult. The Foxes are getting better at moving quietly in the woods and realizing that speed doesn't always get you to where you want to be.

We went into the cabin for lunch and the Foxes worked on their Halloween play, which will be performed in the last 15min of class on Halloween day.

Heading back to the bike track we played one more game of mantracker and then settled down to decorate pumpkins. While some of the Foxes worked on their pumpkins for the rest of the afternoon, one group went out to hunt squirrels.

Rabbits - May 13

We enjoyed a sunny morning on the bluff! The dandelions were starting to pop up everywhere so we spent some time harvesting the petals...
