From Emery!

"Today we went biking to the Inglewood bird sanctuary. We started off with some warming up, then we started our journey. With just a few stops on the way and a peaceful ride, we got to the bird sanctuary.  We locked up our bikes and headed inside.

Ms. Lea got us some scavenger hunt sheets and we walked and talked. On the way we found some cool plants. As we were walking we found a choke cherry tree and found more awesome plants and seeds. Then we tried to find a place to eat. (by the water)  There were 2 paths and we took a vote on which way we should go, the risky path or the safe path (walking wise). The risky route was almost unanimous  so we walked for a few minutes and found a good place to eat and cool off. Now some people decided it was too hot and went in the water and some went all the way under, and people started to follow (even Safiya!) until all of us were soaking wet (except Mrs. Dawn). We were all worried about drying in time, but surprisingly we got dry very fast.  After we were done at the river we started to head back and found a place on the way to do some Journaling and sketching with the plants we found on our way. We somehow turned just a simple picnic place into a playground. After that we walked back to our bikes and filled up our water bottles. Then we unlocked our bikes and headed to Ice cream!

Once we made it to ice cream we figured out what we wanted and ate it. We were on a tight schedule so we decided to walk and eat.

The ice cream was so delicious! Would recommend going there!"

Ask your Coyote:

-what made the 'risky' path risky?

-what plants are in the Bird Sanctuary that aren't in the bluff?

-what made you go in the water?

Nice blog Emery. That water was COLD, but it was worth every second of it!
