Hey- It's Mika! Today we went on another of the 4 weeks of field trips, and it was SO EPIC! We met up at Bowness park, and donned paddles, boats and life jackets- Canoeing! One of the many talents of Ms. Lea is being a canoe instructor, and she led us in some strokes, such as drawing and prying (pulling/pushing) and we played the canoe version of foxtails with pool-noodles. We also went on an adventure downriver.

The highlight was definitely messing around- Hazel and I shared a canoe and we did some balancing on the edges and trying not to fall while moving around, rocking the boat, and jumping off. We tipped our canoe (on purpose!) and got "rescued" by Emery and Hiba, who we also rescued when they tipped. Ms. Lea taught us how to rescue, you pull the canoe on top of yours and flip it, dumping out all the water and putting it back in the water.

The rest of the day was lunch, volleyball, playgrounding and soap carving along with the chocolate game and a knot exam!
