From our very own birthday girl...here's the news!
"T'was the first day of April, fool's day if you will, when the six coyotes met up at the hill. There were some surprises, but no tricks were played, in fact, good wishes and happy birthday was bade.
As a resourceful group, our first goal was set, to create a tarp shelter to outlast any threat. After a few attempts, we had a design- it could be set up in the blink of an eye.
Gold rush was next, two teams faced down, a capture the flag game with my team crowned. It was a tight game, best of three, with roundabout chases and muddy knees.
Ready for lunch, muddy and wet, we gathered our stuff and walked down content. In the cabin, there was plenty to do, after lunch was eaten there was fabric to cut through. Our quilting is fun, but hard work, a million shapes to get done cutting which isn't a perk.
And we had plans, as we went to Sammy's park, for a fire to celebrate a 15th benchmark. It was time for the dutch oven, time to bake, for Mika's birthday we were making a cake. Kindling chopped, and coals hot, all ingredients were dumped in the pot. A dump cake it was, and as it cooked, we vowed every 10 minutes to check and look.
As we waited there was grounders, and spoon carving, and finally it was ready, we were starving. The cake was devoured, pan scraped clean, and our day ended and the coyotes were no longer seen. "
