Some of the other classes have been creating shelters and the chickadees have loved using them for their imaginative play. When playing in the shelters a big theme is having a fire inside, so this week we made our own little fires and toasted some bread over them. The chickadees loved watching the fire and taking turns putting pieces of wood on it. We used the fire to melt wax and gelatin to make a bird feeder and fire starter. Afterwords the Chickadees spent time sliding and exploring the melting snow and ice. Next week we will learn what a fire needs to stay alive!
