It was a true winter wonderland today! The children loved taking their time getting to our spot, climbing up the hill and sliding down along the way. They are learning physical literacy with every step, and are getting stronger and more capable every week! We enjoyed a winter picnic, then used the molds to create snow castles. Sharing the tools and learning about asking if we can smash another's castle are so important! Every week we reinforce the concept of respecting each others work, and letting others take longs turns. When one is done with their item, they pass it on to the person who asked. With the amount of sliding we did, the children were tired! We headed inside to make our birch bark ornaments, which the children loved wrapping.
Next week is our last class, and we return Jan 8th!
