The squirrels had a great first class! It was nice to see everyone and spend some time getting to know each other and the spot where will be hanging out each Thursday.
We started the day by walking up to our spot. On the way we noticed some leaves, bugs, and butterflies. We also had the opportunity to look at some art that someone else had installed on the bluff, we especially liked looking at the giant slug,
Once we made it to our regular hang out spot, we had our snack and read the book "over the garden and under the dirt." We then had some free time; some students played with the mud kitchens and others were building a house. We also had the hammock as an option for swinging.
We then did a beading project and put beads on pipe-cleaners. The class seemed to really enjoy crafts, so we also did some drawing. After this it was already time to start walking back.
